Pre-registration for Championship courses is required - see details below.

Recreational participants (i.e. non-Championship) will register the day of the event.

Championship Eligibility:

All orienteers are welcome to participate and are eligible for awards.  However, the title of U.S. Champion in any class shall be limited to those who are USOF members in good standing and meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Are U.S. citizens and citizens of no other country
  • Are in a permanent residence status commonly referred to as "green card carriers".
  • Hold dual (U.S.) citizenship and reside primarily in the United States.
  • Hold dual (U.S.) citizenship, reside primarily outside the United States, and have not yet and agree not to compete for a championship title in another country during the current calendar year.
  • Are full-time students in the U.S. holding a current student visa.
  • The results from the WRE classes will be combined with results from standard length courses for Sunday M-21+ and F-21+ to determine the 2007 US Classic Foot-O National Champions.  M-21+ and F-21+ competitors must run the WRE race to be eligible for the USOF championship title.  WRE starts will commence at 9am on Saturday, 11/3.  WRE start times are expected to end before 11am, subject to the number of competitors.  All WRE start times will be determined by random drawing, in accordance with IOF rules.  Start times cannot be adjusted for competitors who arrive late.

Saturday evening celebration, including dessert & drink (details on Gala page): $5 per adult, $2.50 ages 6-12, free for 5 and under (note: dinner neither available at Museum nor included - just dessert, prizes, plenty of folks, and fun).  Please hold onto the tickets, which will be in your registration packet.

Advance Purchase Maps:

For those interested in seeing what the terrain looks like before you
arrive, QOC offered two older maps of the park.  These cover two
different portions of Prince William Forest Park -- both of these areas will
be used for the 2007 US Champs but on up-to-date maps.   Note that the
vegetation has changed considerably since these maps were made, and they
should not be considered as a guideline for the current state of the
vegetation or mapping standards.  See the Course Setter's notes for current
information on the terrain.

West Prince, color, 1:15000, 1983, Size 17 x 19 inches.

South Fork, color, 1:15000, 1992,  Size 11 x 17 inches.

Price $4 each.  $6 for both.   Maps were mailed when your registration was
received; as the event is now over these maps are no longer for sale.
